Warning: This is a mushy-gushy LOVE post. This lovey-dovey post may annoy you.  This cuddly-wuddly, mushy gushy, lovey-dovey post has one purpose: to record our first Valentines day as Hubby and Wifey.

I love love love Valentines Day!  For the last few years Matt and I have celebrated V-day about a week early.  We do this for a couple reasons. 1. No Prix Fix menu’s. No “I’m sorry, but we ran out of the flourless chocolate cake. No eating at 9:30 because all those other mushy lovey dovey a-holes made reservations a month in advance. AND 2. Because there is a poker event in Vegas that Matt loves and so he would usually chose to be gone over the Valentines Day holiday.

Since we were already in Las Vegas though, I was quite surprised when Matt said he had Valentines day plans for us on Friday the 4th. Surprised and delighted!  I love surprises!

On Friday morning we woke up as usual: leisurely and to the dogs whining to go out.  We snuggled a bit then let the beasts do their business.  Then it was off to the Venetian Oversized Lot that has served as our daytime home for the last few weeks.  Usually when we check in we have to explain why we are here and then name-drop the Head of Security so they will allow us to park there for the day.  You see, you are only allowed to park in the Oversized Lot if you are a guest of the Hotel.  We are not.  We are guests of La Dolly Hotel and Mobile Love Nest.  Because we are not guests at the Venetian, they also do not provide transportation into the hotel either.

Anyways, we drove up and Matt proudly says “Yes, we are checking in!” to the guard.  WHAT?  Um, did Huno just lie to the guy to avoid the entire conversation?  Since that seemed unlikely I gave him a quizzical look to which he replied “You knew there would be surprises.”  HUGE SMILE!  Then he turns to the guard and states that we would like to be picked up in 45 minutes.  Yay!!

I pack our bags and he takes the dogs on a proper walk.  We feed them when they return and Matt and I are off for out romantic staycation!  After a pleasant discussion with the security guard George  we were transported to the lobby in style.

We settled into our room for a few minutes then it was off to the Canyon Ranch Spa for some royal pampering.  I absolutely love love love the spa.  I live for the opportunity to lounge in a robe eating a green apple and sipping on hot tea.  In my opinion there is nothing better than going from a hot tub to a steam room to a waterfall shower.  The Canyon Ranch has  Aquavana, a wonderfully relaxing experience.  They also have a few co-ed areas so Matt and I dressed in our robes and met in the co-ed lobby to begin our relaxing day.

After experiencing all that we could together, we parted ways.  We each went to enjoy all that Aquavana had to offer (I skipped the Igloo room since I hate being cold!).  Many hours later we met back in the hotel room.  I snuggled into bed to try to hold on to the whole body relaxation that I had just experienced.  Suddenly there was a knock on the door…

I looked at Matt who asked me to get it.  With a bit of trepidation I opened the door to a man handing me an envelope.  Confusing.  I took the envelope, flipped it over in my hands and saw that it was from The Wynn.  Huh, I thought, there are 2 shows at The Wynn that I really want to see…

I sat down next to Matt and opened the envelope.  Le Reve!  YES!! I have wanted to see this show for years!  I was over the moon excited.  I bounced on the couch next to Matt and kissed all over him.  Now, time to get ready for dinner so we aren’t late for the show.

For dinner we walked over the The Wynn and ate at Bartolotta’s.  I was craving some Italian food, and this was Italian seafood and was very very delicious.  We ordered a couple pasta dishes to split and then a fish to share (our Server Andrew said that the Swordfish we requested would serve 5 or 6 people, so he suggested another white fish).  The ricotta ravioli was my favorite!  We also ordered Bobby Flay’s favorite thing on the menu lasagnette con ragu (and a lot of other stuff) basically lasagna noodles, lobster, shrimp and crab… soooo yummy!  The last item we ordered was a white fish who’s name I cannot remember. The entire dinner was beyond delicious.  I loved and savored each and every bite.

Fully satisfied from our fantastic meal we walked across the casino to the theater for le Reve. This was the most amazing show I have ever seen!  I wished it would never end.

Alas, all good things must come to an end.  After the best show in the world Matt and I parted ways for a bit.  Our poor pups had been in Dolly for hours with no walk our outside access.  So Matt went off to walk them around the ‘hood behind the Venetian.  I made my way to our room for the night and snuggled into a robe to wait for my Hubby.

I jokingly told Matt that this was the BEST Valentines day I have ever had with my Husband.  :)  The truth is this was the BEST Valentines day EVER!!  I loved every second of it.

Lucky in Love,

Breezy.  xoxo
