WE’RE GOING TO HAVE A BABY!!
We found out right before we left San Diego a few weeks ago. Oh, that reminds me. We are in Austin again. We loved Austin SOOO much last March that we vowed to come back this March. Why? Well, for starters, we thought the weather was P.E.R.F.E.C.T! Our friends, the Blewetts, live here. The entire city is dog friendly. And the entire city has Wifi! There is a Kite Festival in March. SXSW is in March. Oh, and the ENTIRE city is AWESOME! Anyways, here’s how we got here…
Just about a month ago we discovered that I was preggers! “Overjoyed” can’t begin to describe our emotions. “Elated” can’t touch it either. When I saw a positive test, I felt like all the air was sucked out of the room. My arms started to tingle and I started to see spots. I made myself sit down. After telling Matt we decided to keep it pretty hush hush for the first 3 months. But good news travels fast and soon it was slipping out everywhere. We are almost 2 months along now (just baby pregnant) and I am feeling GREAT! I get a little car sick if I’m not watching the road (that’s new), some smells make me feel queasy, and if I don’t have food going into my mouth about every hour I start to feel queasy too. Other than that, no sickness. Yay! I have a few other changes that remind me that I have a little one quickly growing in my uterus. That, and Matt’s constant fat uterus jokes. :)
Though we have decided to deliver in San Diego (estimated due date Oct 28), obviously we have decided to keep living our life. And our lifestyle choice is nomadic. So, now we find ourselves in Austin, TX!!
About 2 weeks ago, Matt put the petal to the metal and we burned rubber out of San Diego. Leaving our loved ones in a cloud of dust and sadness (too self centered?). ;)
We high tailed it to Tubac, AZ to see my Nana for a day…
…then sped our way though New Mexico sleeping at Wal-marts and eating at Red Lobster (bleh and bleh). Our goal? We wanted to get into TX as fast as we could. (You don’t hear that every day!) ;)
Our plan was to spend all of March in Austin. Since we weren’t leaving San Diego till the first week of March –we were already behind. Though nobody really cares much for our schedule and nobody was really expecting us.
We went straight to San Antonio to see our friend Suzanne first.
We needed some catching up time with her. Oh, and San Antonio also has one of Matt’s FAV burger places: Chirs Madrid’s (may he rest in peace). After a couple days in SA and a few good hours with Suzanne and her beaux Robert we were ready for the short trek up to Austin.
I had such great expectations of our month in Austin, and unfortunately some of them have fallen apart. For example, we missed the kite festival since we were still in San Diego when it happened. Oops! Also, the weather here has left something to be desired. It has rained almost every day and was downright COLD for a few days. SXSW is almost over and we have not done or seen any of it. BUT none of that really matters. We have been having a really great time with our friends here!! We watched the Star Wars Originals (a first for me). We have shared great meals, and had a ton of laughs. The dogs all fell right back in like/love. And the girls, one year older and smarter, are super cute, fun and adorable! :) Oh, and did I mention that they are fostering possibly the worlds cutest 6 week old puppy AND a really beautiful cat with her six 2 day old kittens!! (Collective “Awwwwwwww”.)
We also got to reconnect with our fellow travelers, the OurTake duo!! Yayo (as we call them) will be spending all of March, April and part of May here in Austin and so we will get to spend a lot of time with them before we take off from here.
That just about catches us all up for now. Oh, today is my birthday!!!! I don’ t know exactly what we’ll do yet, but I do know that Hey Cupcake is involved! Look out baby, here comes some sugar!!
Tally ho!!

A very happy birthday to you Bree! I’m so glad that you’re back in Austin and back on the blog – you have been missed. AND, happy, happy baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is going to be one lucky little baby to have you and Matt as parents, and your whole extended family/friends to be it’s “village”!!
(personally I hope it’s a girl, just like Lily and Lotus since they are sooooooo amazingly wonderful…)
Enjoy Austin – I know that Austin is enjoying you!!
Thank you Penny!! :) We sure do love it here in Austin! And this time it has nothing to do with the weather, just the people! We sure love your family! :)
Hey, congratulations! The sprout will have auspicious beginnings, on the road and all.
Roxanne
Thank you!! Yeah, we sure hope to raise a traveling spirit. Starting out on the road surely will help that! :) (just so long as she/he doesn’t want to travel away from me for a few decades!) :)

Wow! That is incredible. The world’s cutest puppy? I’ll tell Mack. Wait – he just heard me typing and he barked back that he can’t wait to judge your baby.
Look, I didn’t make the rules. There is always going to be someone younger and cuter. Just ask any girl from ANTM! :)
On a side note, I just miss you guys! :) Hugs to everyone please!!
Oooooooo! I knew it, I knew it, I knew it!!! That “On a blanket with my baby is where I’ll be…” could be taken a couple of different ways. Anyway, I am soooo excited for you both. Congrats!
I knew you knew!! :)
Thanks Diana!! And hey, I think we may have been in Tuscon at the same time. We were on our way to Del Sol, but then went to Desert Diamond! Sorry we missed each other!! It would be wonderful to see you again!! :)
