Thursday, November 18:

“It is seriously so dark tonight!” I said as we made our way down a non-lit dirt path toward our chosen dinner spot. We walked along Torrey Pines State Beach to find this path so we could cross safely under Pacific Coast Highway 101. For those of you unfamiliar the PCH runs right along the water and is b.e.a.u.tiful stretch of road.

I am nursing a broken heart right now since my Bompa (grandpa) just passed away. I slept till about 4pm on Thursday and when I woke up we found ourselves on an adventure. :) First stop: Elimination Station for the 3rd time. So far we have noted that we need to visit the Elimination Station about once a week. Good to know.

Our second stop: Torrey Pines State Beach. It was dark by the time we got there and since we can’t sleep there at night we went over to Carmel Valley Rd. and slept in front of the best taco shop in the area, Roberto’s.

Friday, November 19:

When we woke up near Torrey Pines State Beach we decided to take the dogs for a little walk. 3 hours later we were still trying to get back to the RV. When we left just after sunrise there were no park rangers at the Torrey Pines State Beach and so we walked along the beach and ended up in Del Mar. However when we tried to come back along the beach we first encountered a lifeguard who reminded us that
NO DOGS ALLOWED ON THE BEACH!

Other than going into Del Mar and walking back through the streets and down the PCH we had only one other alternative. There is a rough path along the Coaster tracks. Up from the beach but down from the PCH. It was perfect until the last 2 blocks (or so) when we HAD to cut down across the beach and through the parking lot. As SOON as we got into the parking lot a Park Ranger drove up to us and was pretty pissed that we had “not one, but TWO dogs” in the state reserve. He talked about the bird population and endangered species (all valid arguments for not allowing 4 legged, barking, chasing, drooling, running, bird eating beasts in the park). He did let us off with a warning after threatening us with tickets of “over $500/dog”!!

Our last obstacle was a police car that we had to walk directly in front of. I didn’t dare look at the vehicle as to not draw attention, so I have no idea if there was even an officer in the car –if there was bless them for letting us pass by. FINALLY we were home. I cleaned up the RV a bit (about a 7 minute process) while Matt went to get us some breakfast. After some really great hashbrown breakfast burritos from Roberto’s we we on our way.

Saturday, November 20:

Next we drove up to Lake San Marcos to see Steve and Sylvia’s (Matt’s parents). The two nights we spent there we so quiet and peaceful. We walked the dogs in the rain and laid in bed late in the morning listening to the rain hit the roof of our home. It was just what the Dr. ordered.

Sunday, November 21:

We headed back down south to Ocean Beach for a day at the beach and dinner with my family. Every Sunday is Family Dinner.

The day was still wet and rainy so we went grocery shopping and stayed inside for most of the day. BUT just before the sun set for the night the clouds parted and the sun shone down on us. The temperature raised a little bit and it was a really lovely evening. Around 7:00 my whole family came to our home for dinner. I was running on the beach with the dogs and the moon was so full that I felt like God was shining a flashlight down on us. It was glorious.

When I got back home the smell of the Manacotti was flowing out of our RV and our small home was full of love. Derrick and Megan brought some wine and those that wanted drank a glass. Everything was delicious and perfect and the clean up took all of 10 minutes. After everyone left for the night we decided to drive over to Harbor Island (the most beautiful view of Downtown San Diego) and risk parking here over night.

Here we are tucked in tight and ready for sweet dreams. The safe inside of our home is exactly the same, but outside there is a new adventure waiting for us tomorrow.

Good night!

xoxo

Breezy.
