Under the Boardwalk,
Under the Boardwalk, Boardwalk!
From the park you hear the happy sounds of the….

Oh hello!
Wait, you look so familiar.
I’m sorry to be rude, but have we met?…
We what?
Oooooh yeah, that’s right.
We used to have an on-going conversation. What happened with that anyways?…
I would like to appologize for our absence from our blog, but I can’t bring myself to do it. I experienced a really strange thing during the months of October and November. It seemed the closer we got to our home base (San Diego) the less I felt like writing and updating our blog. I don’t know why. But it is what it is (IIWII).
As would be expected, life kept rolling, even when the wheels stopped though and we have been happily “squatting” behind our old house in Golden Hills for the last couple months. We really enjoyed the holidays with our families, and well… there actually is a lot that we missed writing about. Here’s a list of the highlights:
1. We probably should have done the obligatory “Top Stops in 2011” or the even more popular “2011 Budget: What We Actually Spent”.
2. Since our last post was a San Fran recap, we never told you about our week in LA while Matt played poker and we got to hang with our friend Gina and her beaux Austin. Oh, and we had a really great burger at Umami that should go on the blog under “Eats”.
3. The Holidays were FANTASTIC! We should have written about our Thanksgivings, 3 or 4 Christmases, and the worlds greatest New Years Eve Scavenger hunt!
4. We should have blogged our “List” of the items we wanted to accomplish while back in SD. (Maybe writing it down would have made us feel the need to actually DO them!)
5. OH! I totally missed my monthly picture montage. There is no NovembERGETIC! There is no DecemTASTIC! And there may not be a JanuRIFIC! It’s not that I have not taken pictures, I am still as obnoxious with the camera as ever.
6. We had a truly amazing New Years with a great group of people. You can read about it here here or here. The Cliff’s Notes are that I organized a photo scavenger hunt around San Diego after dinner and IT WAS A BLAST!!
7. There is really big news in the Poker World! Matt has won 3 tournaments this year so far. He has trophies, poster sized pic’s of himself, and if we got his winnings in all $1’s we could have ourselves a genuine Indecent Proposal night!
8. I have been a crafting/project queen! I have re-done our bathroom, our dining table, made pillows, Kindle covers, sewed, glued, screwed (get your mind out of the gutter!), bedazzled and updated everything I can get my hands on! I’m covered in paint and glue, my nails are chipped and ragged and I LOVE IT!!
We have basically just been hanging out and living life. Life just keeps moving on, with our without us here. Friends are getting married, getting divorced, parents are still parenting, people move away or just move on… It’s really refreshing in a way. There is no pressure in the knowledge that we don’t make a difference. Not to say that I don’t think people L.O.V.E. having us around –I’m suuuuuure they do! Just that I won’t feel as much guilt this time in leaving and not being around. That feels nice.
So, as you were. We’ll continue this convo again I’m sure.
You can almost smell the hot dogs and french fries they sell.
Thanks for the update! Was it my request that made you do it? Sorry, didn’t mean to pressure you. :-)) Glad you are having a great time in SD.
Hi Diana!
It was your gentle request, and I am SO GRATEFUL to you for the little nudge that I needed. We’re getting back on the road soon and I need to get back in the habit (that I used to love!). Thank you for the pressure!
xo
I have missed the OTH blogs so glad to see you’re gettin’ back in the groove! Besides, there’s even more to write about now!!!!
When Breezy Got Her Groove Back! It’s about a young woman who’s… well, it’s a movie in the making. :)
Love you Mama D!

Good to have you back! Are you guys still Austin-bound?
Hi Yayo!! Yes, we are getting back on the road in the next couple days (hopefully!). We’ll drive straight to Austin. I would love to have a double play date when we arrive. How long will you be there?
xo
Hurrah! We pull into Austin early this week with a detour to check out the local Ren Faire.
We’ll be making a trip back to the East Coast on Thursday (3/1) for a few days, but the plan is for Austin to be home base until the first week of May or until it gets too hot – whichever comes first.
Hugs to the boys!
Oh, perfect! We may be getting there right when you guys are getting back. :) We’ll be in touch. See you soon!!
xoxo
Totally unacceptable period of silence.
Agreed. Forgive us?
xo
Am I missing something?
Great to hear from you guys again. We missed you! Glad to hear everything is well. Enjoy Austin! :-)
Hi Jandrea!
We are loving Austin and got to spend some time with your family yesterday. :)
Tally Ho!!
