Hello!
As you seasoned readers may know, we spend every Summer in Vegas for The World Series of Poker. 2014 was not much different from years past. It was still hotter than hell (actually May was delightful). It was still a busy work time for Matt. Siena and I took a couple weeks vaca back in San Diego to escape the heat, like we do every year. (This year we got to catch the Middle School Graduation of Kathy {my “little sister” and more like a daughter to me!}, we filled every single moment with family and friends, and we really soaked up the May Gray and June Gloom that SD had to offer!) And, it was still really wonderful to spend some time with our Vegas friends!!
This year was different than the last 3 though because we found out we are expecting another baby!!
That’s right, somewhere between taking care of a very active toddler and Matt playing poker for 18 hours a day we managed to conceive a new life. (Insert applause & high fives.) Obviously, we are over the moon!! We recently found out that he’s a boy and he should be in our arms around the first week of February.
This pregnancy has been worlds different than my experience with Siena. For starters, This time I suffered from morning (ie: all day) sickness from about 8-13 weeks. (Which doesn’t sound that long now that I’m putting it into weeks, but it felt like a lifetime at the time!!) I also was turned off by sweets. “WHAAAAT?!?”, you say. I know!! Crazy!! You know what I do want all the time? Buffalo sauce. Strange, but amazingly delicious!!!
I’m also way more relaxed with this pregnancy. When I was pregnant with Siena I just spent all day
- reading about her updates
- taking belly pics
- glowing, and
- emailing everyone the above.
Baby Ditto (our pet name for him) will have almost no belly pics and I have only sent out one email. Poor thing. Second child syndrome already! The love is equal though!! ❤️ And because I know what to expect now, and how things are developing, I find that I’m not as obsessed with being pregnant. This time, I just feel like this is a very natural part of our lives. The quirky aches and pains are expected, the amazing size that my stomach can grow (is still amazing, but expected), but his little movements are still absolutely amazing to me. I love every single one so much. This guy is way more active than I remember Siena being. All day and night he is swirling, twisting, tapping, dancing, kicking, poking and just moving his little active bod!
Here is a pic of his cute tiny face.
(And before you get all “that baby aint that cute!” on me. First of all YES HE IS!! Second of all, all ultrasound baby pics look like Skeletor.)
Xoxo
Bree.
